Donald Delbert Dunn Jr.
Donald Delbert Dunn Jr. (Don), best friend and husband to Diana (Darr) Dunn for 49 years, passed away on April 18, 2017 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA at 74 years of age. He and Diana were married on August 19th 1967. Don was born on December 14th, 1942 in Reserve, KS to Donald and Edwina Dunn.

Don was a WWII baby. He met this father at age 3 when he returned home from the war. Unsure of this new man’s presence in his house, Don eventually acclimated.

He attended Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, WA graduating in 1961. After high school he attended Grays Harbor Community College then Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA where he earned a B.A. in History. He then achieved a post-baccalaureate in Education and began teaching elementary school, grades 3-6, for 33 years at A.J. West Elementary School in the Aberdeen School District. During this time, he returned to WWU and earned his M.Ed in Education.

Don has always been a voracious reader, a frequent patron of the Timberland Regional Library, avid gardener, outdoorsman and well known for initiating pranks fueled by his off-beat sense of humor.

Don is survived by his wife Diana Dunn; sons Adam (Melissa) Dunn of Ruston, WA and Scott (Jeff) Dunn of Tacoma, WA; brother Roger (Christine) Dunn of Lacey, WA; sister Janet Wilbur of Central Park, WA; sister in-law Christine Darr of Vancouver, WA; and grandchildren Alexander and Henry Dunn along with 3 nieces, 6 nephews, 4 great nieces, 1 great nephew and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
