Marie Fry, longtime Montesano resident passed away on May 10, 2016, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 92. Marie was born August 1, 1923, to James and Blossom (Green) Brown in Elma, WA. She was raised in Elma and graduated from Elma High School in 1941.
After graduation, Marie attended business school. She married Delbert F. Fry June 22, 1956, in Montesano, WA. She was employed by the City of Montesano as the City Clerk for many years. Marie was an active member in the Montesano VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, Marie enjoyed doing crafts, crossword puzzles, bowling, and going on fishing trips.
Marie was an avid car racing fan for many years. It all started with watching car #37, driven by her husband Del. She continued to enjoy her love of racing as the number one fan of car #3, driven by her son Donny. Marie and Del traveled extensively in their motorhome watching the World of Outlaws.
Marie is survived by her sons Richard Scott (Miriam) of Vancouver, WA; Donald Fry (Ashlee) of Puyallup, WA; and her daughter Teresa Olson of Montesano, WA. She is also survived by her brother James A. Brown (Gerry) of Bellingham, WA; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; and one niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert F. Fry, and son-in-law Bill Olson.
