I only met Carmen this last year. I stopped at her house because she owned the house next door that my grandfather, Harry Peterson, owned for awhile when my father was young and my grandfather worked for Saginaw. She let me look inside the house and we spent some time looking at her research. We spoke several times on the phone and I attended the Pioneer Days.As a little girl, my father took us to Brooklyn to visit a friend and ended up taking a puppy home. Carmen remembered that day as this was a friend of hers and she remember us. My father also attended the same school as a child. What a wonderful woman and a wealth of information on Brooklyn and Saginaw. We both shared such an excitement and passion for the history there. And had planned to get together soon. I know the loss will be felt greatly for the community, friends, and family there. I know I do and knew her for such a short time. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Sincerly,
Sharon Peterson Ford
