Obituary for Carolyn Jeanette Fields (Pennick)

Carolyn Jeanette Fields passed away peacefully in her home of 59 years on
September 23, 2022 at the age of 94.
She was born in Melbourne, Washington on January 22, 1928 to
Freeman and Dimple Pennick.
She was raised in Fords Prairie and Porter Washington and attended
Fords Prairie and Cedarville Grade School and graduated from Elma High School. 
Carolyn worked for the Pacific Telephone company from 1948 to 1959 as an operator
before marring John Robert “Bob” Fields at the Elma Methodist Church in Elma, Wa
on October 1, 1949. They were married for 66 years.
Carolyn was an avid bowler in her younger years and won many awards at Monte Lanes.
She was a member of the “Thursday Embroidery Club” later known as the “Coffee Club”
and served as the Secretary for 42 years. She also belonged to a Card Club for many
years.
She played the accordion and trumpet in a band in the 1940s.
Carolyn loved the outdoors, maintaining a very large yard and property, she also loved to
bake providing pies, cookies and cakes for her family.
She also dearly loved her cat, “Kitty Lou” and her small flock chickens.
Carolyn is survived by her son John Fields and daughter-in-law Dorothy Harry of
Oakville, Wa.
Granddaughters Esther (Joel) McBride and Evelyn Harry.
Great-Grandchildren Lincoln and Freya McBride.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Fields who passed away in 2015, parents
Freeman and Dimple Pennick, brother Eldred Pennick, sisters Doris Halloway and
Kathryn Whiteman (Carolyns twin). 
Carolyn’s passing has left a large void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
