With the deepest sorrow, we announce that Gregg “Jared” Peterson, 19, -our most beloved son, brother, family member, and friend- left this earth far too soon on September 19, 2022.
Jared was born on September 30th, 2002 in Aberdeen, Washington, the son of Gregg and Georgia Peterson. He was just shy of his 20th birthday- though his time here was cut short the effect he left with us all will last a lifetime.
Jared was such a loving and compassionate person. He trusted easily and loved hard. He cared more about other people than he did for himself. He always tried to help others any way he could, extending a helping hand any way he knew how. He cared for people in the purest way- loving them for who they were and because he wished the best for them, without asking anything in return. He always knew that material things weren’t what was important in life. His kind soul will forever be missed.
Jared graduated from Montesano Jr. Sr. Highschool last June. He had also worked at Aberdeen Papa Murphy’s since he was just 16 years old. He was dedicated and an extremely hard worker- working part to full time all while attending high school and moving forward working toward his college Degree. Jared was currently attending Grays Harbor College and was just about to start his next quarter. He was very smart and excelled at his academics- always putting in the time and effort. In all he did- he was dedicated to doing it right. He enjoyed his job and coworkers and as he said-I love my “Papa Murphy’s Family.”
Jared loved his family and his two dogs Ellie and Lucky. He enjoyed spending time with his family going clam digging, cutting firewood, watching movies, fires on the back deck, and doing other activities together that will be cherished forever. He had a love and passion for music and video games. He was also an avid soccer player- going to the Championships two years in a row- winning once.
Jared leaves behind his father and mother; Gregg and Georgia Peterson of Aberdeen, his brother; Brandon (Taleana) Peterson of Aberdeen, his two sisters; Gena (Ken) Bixler of Puyallup and Brianna (Brian) Johnson of Cosmopolis; his grandparents Gerald and Sharon Peterson of Aberdeen, and Vasiliki Komboukos of Hoquiam.
Jared had so much goodness, so much capacity to bring happiness to others, and such a bright future that was just getting started. The world is a lesser place without him. But nothing can separate love. Because of this, we will always be connected. He saved everyone but he couldn’t save himself. “If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died.”
In lieu of flowers, we respectfully request donations in memory of Jared to support the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Visitation will take place Thursday, September 22, at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen from 12- 4 pm. A Celebration of Life BBQ will be held at a later date for close family and friends.
