Obituary for Bill David Darnell

Bill David Darnell passed away on June 23rd, 2022. He was born to Leonard and Majorie (Hansen) Darnell on December 23rd, 1958 in Auburn, Wash. He was raised in Elma, Wash., and graduated from Elma High School class of 1977, he went on to attend Olympia Technical College for welding certification. Bill worked for CalPortland and as a farrier(horse shoer), both of which he retired from.

On November 30th, 1985, Bill married Lisa Ann Bosler in Elma. They were married for 36 years and had two children- Trenton and Raelene.

In 1989 Bill joined the Grays Harbor Mounted Posse. He was influential in starting the Grays Harbor Indoor Pro Rodeo. In 1991 he became a firefighter/EMT for the Oakville Volunteer Fire Department. He retired from the fire department in 2012.

Bill enjoyed fishing, trail riding on his horses, cattle sorting, watching car races and rodeos, clam digging, traveling, and most of all being with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Lisa at their family home in Oakville; children Trenton and Raelene (Andrew Raney) Darnell both of Oakville; brothers Ed (Judy), Allen (Joanie), and John (Anita) Darnell; sisters Phyllis Thompson, Margie (Johnny) Cunningham, Barbara Ronan, Lelani Jensen, and Valerie (Dan) Oswald; and grandson Grayson Raney. He is preceded in death by both his parents.

A service will be held on Saturday, July 30 at the Chehalis Tribal Community Center (461 Secena Rd, Oakville) starting at 11:00 a.m.
