Obituary for Charles Christopher "Chuck" Douglass

Charles Christopher Douglass, a lifelong resident of Montesano, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, at the age of 65 years young.

Charles “Chuck” Douglass was born Aug. 2, 1956, to Charles W. Douglass and Donna (Balow) Douglass. Chuck grew up in Aberdeen with his six siblings and remained a loyal resident of Grays Harbor County making a life and a living for him and his children.

Anyone that knew Chuck knew he worked extremely hard for everything he had and was proud of the job that he did. His passion for driving dump trucks was endless, putting millions of miles on the road to do everything he could to provide for his children. When he wasn’t behind the wheel of a Kenworth, he could be found enjoying a triple-shot white chocolate and French vanilla latte from one of the local coffee stands, fishing, camping, smoking anything and everything in his Traeger or palling around with his grandpup to get her a Happy Meal from McDonalds. No matter what he was doing or who he was with he could always be found with a contagious smile on his face that made everyone around him smile too. Chuck was loyal to those he loved and cared about, going out of his way to help those who needed him and would have given the shirt off his back, even if it was one of his signature plaid flannels.

Chuck has made endless memories with family and friends during his 65 years of life. He will be remembered for his unmatched work ethic and perfectionist nature, not to mention his love of classic rock, plaid flannels and Levis, but also his loyalty to his friends and most notably his love for his children and grandchildren, even the one with four paws and a tail.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jim and Dick Douglass. He is survived by his two children, Christopher (Shelly) Douglass and Callee (Kevin) Gardner, his grandsons Cayleb and Dylan Douglass, siblings Steven (Debbie) Douglass, David (Cathy) Douglass, John Cribbs and Kathy (Ted) Twigg; his beloved grandpup Leilah, and best friend James Hensley along with several nieces, nephews and friends that he loved like family.
