Obituary for Terrence Deane "Terry" Ogren

Terrence “Terry” Deane Ogren, loving husband, brother, and friend peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Beehive Assisted Living Center in McCleary, WA. He was 76 years old. Terry was born on August 15, 1945 to Ernest and Olga (Daniels) Ogren in Ewen, Michigan.
During Terry’s childhood he and his family lived in Ewen, MI until 1950 when they decided to move to Aberdeen, WA. Terry graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School. Terry was drafted into the US Army on January 6, 1966 serving in the Vietnam War. During his time in the Army as a Private First Class he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal. He was honorably discharged on November 29, 1967 and went back home to Aberdeen.
After Terry was settled in, he met the love of his life Gayle (Sherwood). They later married on November 4, 1972 in Bellingham, WA. He then went to work for Lamb of Grays Harbor as a machinist, Ovalstrapping INC as a purchasing agent, and then earned his Associates Degree from Grays Harbor College and became a L.P.N. in 2005. He finished off his career and retired as a nurse in October 2009.
In his spare time Terry enjoyed several outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, sailing, and camping.

Terry is survived by his wife of 48 years Gayle Ogren of Aberdeen; and by her brothers Jim Ogren of South Carolina and Mitchell Ogren of Montesano. He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Olga Ogren.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen and Montesano.
