Obituary for Sally Anne Feneide

Sally Anne Feneide, 81, went with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. She was born to Stanley Ellsworth and Beryl Safford Vetter Smith in Hoquiam, Washington, on Nov. 10, 1938. She, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ed Feneide. He resides at the family home in Ocosta.
Sally attended high school in Sunnyside, Washington, graduating in 1956. Having family ties to Grays Harbor. She spent her teenage summers at "the farm" located at the end of Rustmeyer Road just outside of Aberdeen. She attended Grays Harbor College shortly before entering the workforce.
Sally and Ed Feneide were married on Dec. 31, 1967, in Grayland, Washington. Soon thereafter, together, they bought the F/V Karanna. Sally managed the family business for over 40 years.
Her other ventures were a breakfast cook at the Hub Cafe' during the height of sports fishing heyday. She eventually moved on to manage the cafe' at the Westport Bowling Alley in the late 1970's, all the while continuing to manage the family business until the Karanna sold in 2005.
What brought her the most joy was holidays, family gatherings and church potlucks. Sally also dearly loved attending the various sporting events, dance recital and award ceremonies of her beloved grandchildren. Her love for cooking was evident at every family event. She was best known for her homemade clam chowder, apple pie and potato salad.
Sally was a long-time member of the South Beach Presbyterian Church and spent several years organizing and cooking for the 'Free Thursday Night Dinners' at the Twin Harbors Baptist Church. She spent the last ten years attending a home-based church with her husband and close friends. anticipated outing for Sally was the time she spent visiting and crafting with the ladies group WOW, which met monthly for Christian fellowship and encouragement.
Sally was very well known for her beautiful singing voice, singing at many local events. She also loved organizing and directing numerous community Easter and Christmas choirs, as well as singing at many weddings and funerals throughout her life. Sally participated in the fundraising efforts of Cable Christian Ministries, where she sang live on television. She recorded a multi-song cassette tape which is a highly coveted item to those who have one in their possession.
Sally was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Smith; her mother, Beryl Bibbons; her bother, Lee Smith; and her sister, Beth Krause.
In addition to her husband, Sally is survived by her son, Pete (Shelly) Feneide of Ocosta; her daughter, Debbie (Brian Barney of Sedro Woolley; her son, Ed Fenedie of North Cove; and her sister, Mary Simmons, of Ocosta. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Sally will be dearly missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
