Obituary for Jack John "Jacob" Leithem

Jack “Jacob” Leithem Jr. passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at his McCleary home. Jack was born on April 18, 1943 to Jack and Loretta (Patrickus) Leithem Sr. in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with Masters in Chemical Engineering in 1968 and married his loving wife Phyllis (Flamm) Leithem on June 7, 1969. Together they celebrated 51 years of marriage.
In December 1970, the happily married couple moved to Washington state. They made their home in McCleary and raised 2 children, Jason and Jessica. Jack was employed with ITT Rayonier, The State of Washington and most recently became self-employed.
Jack enjoyed listening to music, watching sports, and retaining any history dealing with railroading and trains. He also enjoyed raising Morgan horses.
Jack is survived by his wife Phyllis; children Jason and Jessica both of McCleary; brother Bill (Norine) Leithem of Sugar Grove, Illinois; and sisters Kathy (Gary) Mallory of Aurora, Illinois and Pat (Dale) St. Peter of Indianapolis, Indiana; and by in-laws Barbara Flamm (Tinley Park, Illinois), Rosemary Wirtel (Orland Park, Illinois), Larry and Marie Flamm (Wheaton, Illinois), Steve and Jennifer Flamm (Granite Bay, California), and Mark and Ann Flamm (Tinley Park, Illinois). As well as numerous loving nieces and nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces all living in the Chicago area.
He is preceded in death by his sister Loretta Schultz and parents Jack and Loretta Leithem.
