Obituary for Marcy Marie Miller
Marcy Marie Miller of Aberdeen passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Auburn Medical Center. She was 68. Marcy was born on February 3, 1951 to Percy and Doris (Gardner) Houghton in Aberdeen, WA. She attended High School in Moclips, WA and graduated with the class of 1970 and was employed as a retail clerk for 30 years prior to her retirement in 2007.
On November 23, 1981 Marcy married Lester Eugene Miller in Portland, OR. Last year they celebrated 41 years together and 38 married. Lester was the love of Marcy’s life and he will miss her dearly.
Marcy was a selfless, caring, and outgoing woman. She enjoyed going to dance with her granddaughter and talking on the phone. She was notorious for “just checking in” on her loved ones.
Marcy is survived by her loving husband Lester Miller of Aberdeen; children Jeff Merrill of Shelton, Christine Merrill of Hoquiam, Travis Miller of Aberdeen, Patty Miller of Tennessee, and Jerry Miller of Tennessee; brother Russ Hougthon of Olympia, and David Hougthon of Hoquiam; sisters Jodi Brown of Aberdeen and Sue Manni of Bremerton; sister in-law Marie Highland; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Kathryn Fields and Caryolyn Rought.
A celebration of Marcy’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2020 in the chapel of Harrison Family Mortuary, 311 W. Market St., Aberdeen. Her birthday reception will follow at Aberdeen’s Rotary Log Pavilion, 1401 Sargent Blvd.
