Obituary for Barbara Ann Rudy (DeMuth)
Our mother Barbara Ann Rudy (Barb), 83 was called to the Rainbow Bridge on March 9, 2018 where we're sure she was met by and joyously reunited with all her fur babies.
Barb was born in Wheeling, WV, March 15, 1936 to John and Francis (Saksa) Demuth. She grew up in Crescent, OH and graduated from Martins Ferry High School. Barb lived in several Ohio locations before she met and married her second husband, Gene S. Rudy, Sr. on May 25, 1968 in Cleveland, Ohio. They later relocated to the Hoquiam and then North Beach areas of Washington state.
Over the course of her life Barb was employed in a variety of positions, her last being Executive Head Housekeeper at the Windjammer Resort Condominiums in Ocean Shores. She was there for 20 years until her health forced her to retire.
Barb loved the outdoors, going for drives in the woods and sitting on the beach watching the ocean. She loved animals, enjoying the company of many over her lifetime. She was also an avid reader and loved the mystery and horror genres.
Our mother touched many lives and will be greatly missed. A special callout and thank you to the third floor CNAs and nursing staff at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab in Aberdeen for taking care of Barb for the last seven years.
Barb leaves behind two children, Tammy L. (Harry) Meeker of Dillonvale, OH, and Gene S. (Hollee) Rudy, Jr. of Aberdeen, WA and long time friend, Joann Antill of Powhatan Point, OH.
