Obituary for Velma Ruckman (Reynolds)
Our beloved Nana, Velma Ruckman, peacefully passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at her Elma home. She was 92. Velma was born on February 2, 1926 to Matthew and Esther Reynolds in Harrison, AR. On November 24, 1945 she married Leo Ruckman in Oklahoma.
Velma is survived by her sister Ava Jean Ackley of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren Felix Carlson, Sonny Carlson, and Emily (Tom) Valentine all of Elma, WA; great-grandchildren Gage (Riley) Carlson, Taihler Valentine, and Thomas Valentine; and great-grandsons Brody Kash and Logan Carlson. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Ruckman; siblings Vernon and Vernell; and only child Carolyn Yvonne Carlson.
A celebration of Velma’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the McCleary VFW Post 5564, 158 N. Summit Road. She will be placed at McCleary Cemetery in a private family inurnment.
Velma was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many and will be dearly missed.
