Lifelong Montesano resident Pamela Kaye Valentine passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. She was 70. Pamela was born September 11, 1945 in Aberdeen, Washington to Rolland and Hazel Smith. She was raised in Montesano and graduated from Montesano High School in 1963.
On June 28, 1963 she married the love of her life James L. Valentine in Montesano. He survives her at the family home.
She had worked for Sprouse and also First Interstate Bank. She was a member of and past president of the Wynooche Homemakers Club and she also belonged to the Montesano Presbyterian Church Women’s Bible Study. She was a volunteer at Montesano schools and enjoyed ceramics and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband James, she is also survived by her daughter Airica (Paul) Brumfield and two sons Jim Valentine Jr and Ed (Sami) Valentine; six grandchildren Derek, Quintin, Steven, Daniel, Wyatt and Ella; three brothers Burt (Dixie) Smith, Rolland “Bob” (Pam) Smith, Richard “Rick” (Kerri) Smith; three sisters Dolores Mooney, Darlene (Glen) Brittain and Ruth (Les) Foss; also Brittain Daniels who’s a special part of our family and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Hazel Smith, three brothers Claire “Bud” Smith, Dr. James Smith and her sister Eilleen Matney.
A memorial service with Pastor Jerry Phillips officiating will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30th at the Montesano Church of God with a potluck immediately following.
Memorials are suggested to the Montesano Fire Department.
