KATHLEEN DIANE TADLOCK (1959 – 2018)
ABERDEEN, WA - It is with profound sadness that the family of Kathleen D. Tadlock, announces her unforeseen passing on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, WA.
She was born, December 5, 1959 in Arlington, TX, late daughter of Samuel B. and Mary Elizabeth (Gottwald) Tadlock.
Kathleen was a 1978 graduate of A.D. Johnston H.S., Bessemer, MI where she participated in Speedgirl basketball, volleyball, track and the schools’ rifle team. After graduation, she moved to Evanston, IL where she worked and attended college at Loyola University, Chicago, IL. In 1987 she relocated to Seattle, WA and worked at Muzak Corporation while attending Seattle University. For many years, Kathleen worked as a personal executive assistant for senior business executives/owners in the greater Seattle/Bellevue WA area.
One of Kathleen’s greatest joys over the years was spending time with her nephews and nieces and goddaughter, Isabella Kathleen. She enjoyed traveling with them to Europe and throughout the Pacific Northwest, cooking and hiking together, going to movies, shopping, swimming, attending Seattle Mariner baseball and Seahawk football games while watching each of them grow and mature to raise lovely families of their own.
An avid outdoor enthusiast and adventurer seeker, Kathleen enjoyed hiking, rafting, and wildlife viewing in Alaska, ski trips and visits to Telluride, CO, bicycling, skiing and hiking the mountains of the N. Cascades and British Columbia, Canada, boating on Lake Washington and Puget Sound, and listening with awe to the sounds of the waves of the Oregon and Washington coast. She also loved to entertain her close friends and families and cook wonderful ethnic or regional dinners. Kathleen most recently learned the fine art of razor clam digging on the Washington coast - although eating them was not her cup of tea.
One of her most cherished personal athletic accomplishments involved training for and completing the STP (Seattle to Portland) bicycle ride: a 200+ mile ride, the largest multi-day bicycle event in the Pacific Northwest, with up to 10,000 participants.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and step-father Milan G. Mahnke, brothers Samuel Bruce and Paul Robert.
