John Anthony Morris, age 59, passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018. John was born to Dan and Roberta (Good) Morris on Dec. 25, 1958, at UCLA Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif.
He was raised in Tacoma and Aberdeen, attending schools in both cities.
John had a son from his first marriage. He married Doree (Cristelli) Morris in 1989 and they had two daughters. Later divorcing, they remained close friends.
John lived most of his adult life in Elma, where he worked for Bayview Lumber as yard manager for many years. He also worked for his uncle Rob Good at Rob’s cabinet shop in Olympia, later retiring due to ill health.
John lived with his loving sister Sharilyn his last years.
John will be remembered for his love of family. He enjoyed fixing them special meals. He also loved the holidays, the beach, listening to music, his cat “Boo” and side-kick “Mocha.” John loved muscle cars, had a need for speed and a great sense of humor.
John touched many lives and the memories he leaves with us will be treasured always.
He was preceded in death by his father Dan and uncle Rob Good. John is survived by his parents Roberta (Arnold) DeHart; children John, Brittnee and Ashlee (Donny) Fry; sisters Shari and Sharilyn; six grandchildren, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart or Lung Association.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in the chapel at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen; with Pastor Ged West officiating. A gathering will immediately follow at KM Maplewood Resort Clubhouse, 801 E Main St., Elma.
