Obituary for Geraldine Jeannette Ralkey (Whipple)

Geraldine “Peggy” Jeanette Ralkey went home to be with her “Heavenly Father” on Aug. 22, 2018, at Providence St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Wash. She was born on June 16, 1930, in Harvey, N.D. to Harvey and Pauline Whipple.

Geraldine married Harold Ralkey in 1948 and they relocated to the Grays Harbor area. Together they raised four children – Myron Ralkey of Orville, Wash., Carol “Tudy” Ralkey-Bogar of Elma, Loren Ralkey of Tenino and Dennis “Denny” Ralkey.

Geraldine’s family and friends loved her dearly. She was loving, caring, generous and was always there to give a helping hand to those who needed one. She loved life and had a comical sense of humor.

Geraldine’s passion was being a homemaker. She loved to cook and bake and was always sharing with everyone. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and listening to his music. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and lover her children dearly.

Geraldine worked various jobs throughout her life. She had worked for the food canary, Dr. McCool, Dr. Mickens, Bayview and she worked for Grays Harbor County Courthouse as a custodian for eight years.

Geraldine is survived by her husband, Harold Ralkey, her three children, 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Dennis “Denny” Ralkey in 2006; also her parents, six brothers, Wayne, Ray, Cecil, Harold, Leo, Dayton Whipple, and one sister Francis Weld of Elma.
