Obituary for Betty Mae "Grandma B" Olson (Harris)




Betty “Grandma B” passed away July 29, 2018, at Pacific Care Center. She was 87. Betty was born May 30, 1931, to Clifford and Lulu Harris in Grandview, Wash.

On April 20, 1961, Betty married Raymond O. Olson in Aberdeen. They raised three daughters, Shelley, LuAnn and Karla.

Betty was active in many things; she loved bowling and reading. She was a member of many bowling teams on the Harbor. She was also a member of the Aberdeen Eagles, Sweet Adelins. She spent many hours volunteering for the March of Dimes and AJ West PTA where her girls all attended.

Betty worked at the Aberdeen Bowling Alley and later managed Swaneez’s and the RibEye restaurants.

In retirement Betty enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids playing baseball, swimming and playing volleyball.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother Helen Dehart and her daughter Shelley Hosford.

Betty is survived by her husband, Raymond Olson; daughters LuAnn (Fred) Cady, Karla (Bob) Smith; grandchildren Alisha Hosford, Troy Hodge and Willy Cady and great-grandchildren Will Grinols and Graycen Grinols.

We will have a celebration of life potluck at the Cosmopolis Lions Club on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. Please come and share your stories.

Memorials in Betty’s name may be made to Pacific Care, 3035 Cherry St, Hoquiam, WA 98550; where she was taken so very good care of.
