Obituary for Victor Joesph Hottinger

Victor Joseph Hottinger of Cordova, AK passed away at his Westport winter retreat on Monday, July 9, 2018. He was 67. Victor was born in Seattle, WA on July 27, 1950 to Emil and Sally (Barnes) Hottinger.

Vic enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing. He was also an avid sports fan.

In 1974 Vic met Katherine in Seattle, WA and moved to Alaska in 1975. They married in Cordova on November 22, 1976 and enjoyed 41 wonderful years together. Vic and Katherine became snowbirds in 2013; spending their summers and falls in Cordova and winter months in Westport. While living in Cordova Vic was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the city. After his retirement, they decided to leave their Cordova home and spend summers and falls at their cabin on Hawkins Island.

Victor is survived by his wife Katherine Hottinger; sons Steven Hottinger of Everett, WA and Christopher Hottinger of Cordova, AK; daughters Cecily Hottinger and Shannon Phillips both of Cordova, AK; brother Mark Hottinger of Seattle, WA; sisters Denise Wallace of Lapahoehoe, HI, Theresa Chappell, Mary Babic, and Peggy McDaniel all of Cordova, AK; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Sally Hottinger.
