Obituary for Marlene Rose Payne (Minatre)

Longtime East County resident Marlene Rose Payne passed away at her daughter’s home in Rochester, Washington on Friday, June 29, 2018. She was 87. Marlene was born May 22, 1931 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Frank O. and Mildred E. (Mock) Whiteman.
On Jan. 23, 1948 Marlene married Donald B. Warren in Jamestown, Penn. They later divorced. She married Richard T. Minatre on July 25, 1955 in Olympia, Wash. he passed away Dec. 24, 1983. On June 29, 1985 Marlene married Thomas A. Payne in Rochester, Wash. He passed away July 9, 1998.
Marlene moved from Pennsylvania in 1950 to Sacramento, Calif. and worked for the Roxie Theater and Millers Drive Inn Restaurants. She moved to Olympia in 1955 and settled in the Grand Mound/Rochester area. She had worked for Wheaton’s Chicken Farm gathering eggs, North West Homes and Pacific Sign in Chehalis, Wash. She had worked at the State Capital in Olympia as a janitor, drove long haul from Seattle to San Diego and retired from Simpson Timber Co. in McCleary where she worked in both door and plywood plant.
Marlene enjoyed trips with the seniors, going to Mariner games, and loved doing genealogy research and tracing her family tree.
Marlene is survived by her daughter Wink Bushnell of Rochester, Wash.; three sons Frank Warren of Porter, Wash., Don Warren of Elma, Wash., Richard Minatre of Wasilla, Alaska; two step daughters Linda Minatre Johnson of Centralia and Sandra Jarvis of Malone, Wash. She was preceded in death two husbands, her son Joe Warren in 2009 and her brother Donald Whiteman in 2007.
At her request there will be no formal services. She will be buried at Ground Mound Cemetery.
