Obituary for Patricia Ann Reams
Lifelong resident Patricia Ann (Sackrider) Reams, also known as Pat or Patty, passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2018, surrounded by her family at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab in Aberdeen, Washington. She was born on October 10th, 1941 to Roland Sackrider and Virginia (Smith) Sackrider at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington.
Pat was raised in Montesano and attended and graduated from the Montesano School District. She met Donnie Reams while in high school and they married on September 4th, 1959, shortly after she graduated. Pat and Donnie made their home in Montesano where they brought two daughters into the world. First Dawn in 1960 and then Julie in 1962. While raising the girls, Pat was a stay at home mom. When her girls reached their early teens, Pat decided she would keep herself busy with work. She worked as a retail clerk at Valu Drug for 35 years until retirement.
Some of Pat’s hobbies were to cook/bake, decorate, and watch her soaps. She really enjoyed spending time with her friends, whether it was going shopping, attending her birthday club, or just simply planning a girl’s trip to the casino, or elsewhere. Ultimately, her family was everything to her, and she loved spending time with them. She was always very involved in all the extracurricular activities that her daughter’s, grandchildren, great grandson, great nieces, and great nephews were involved in. She never missed an event. The one thing in her life she lived for was her husband Donnie. He was absolutely everything to her, and her to him.
Pat was a very caring, kind, and giving person. She loved to do for other people, even if it was just simply baking a pie and delivering it to whom ever needed it. Throughout her life, she has touched countless people and has made a difference in the lives of many. Her smile and her laugh were infectious. She was very special to all who were privileged to have known her, and she will be truly missed.
Pat is preceded in death by her father Roland Sackrider; her mother Virginia (Smith) Sackrider; her husband Donnie Reams; and her daughter Dawn (Reams) Baker.
Pat is survived by her brother’s Ronnie Sackrider of Montesano and Steve Sackrider (Shari) of Elma; her daughter Julie Reams of Montesano; her three grandchildren Ryan (Georgia) Baker of McCleary, Brennan Baker of Elma, and Jessica Everson (Daniel) of Elma; her great grandson Morrison Baker of McCleary; her sister in law JoAnne Latch of Montesano; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a private graveside at the Wynoochee Cemetery. A celebration of life for both Pat and her husband Donnie will be held on March 11th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Montesano Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the American Cancer Society, St Jude’s Hospital, and the Montesano Fire Department.
