Willys "Ellen" Horne, daughter of Willys and Gladys Crayne, born on February 14th, 1936 in Longview, Washington passed away surrounded by her loved ones in September 28th, 2017.
She was the youngest of 4 daughters, Dorotha Mae Frances , Olive Anna Fleisher and Ethel "Marie" Frank. She had 6 daughters of her own, Georgia (Carl) Lorton, Diana (James) Jarmann, Dorothy (Robert) Case, Holly (Robert) Ramirez, Lorene (Ralph) Lorton and Mechele Lagergren.
She married the love of her life, Donald E Horne, in September of 1969. She had found her knight in geeky armor, and he treated her like a queen. He swept her, and her 6 daughters off to San Jose, California, where they became known as the California girls. They bought the family home, and settled in to raise their daughters.
Ellen was the an amazing mother. She was always there for everyone through all the Babies, illnesses, surgeries or marital troubles. It did not matter, she was there. Ellen and Donald helped their daughters raise their families. Through all the Sports, lunches and countless left reports, gym clothes, and cheerleading shoes retrieved from home, Ellen was still, always there. She made clothes for school, plays, spirit days and dances. Her home had an open door policy. Ellen was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, who all adored her.
She is now in heaven with our dad, Donald, for she could not stay here without him any longer. We will miss her deeply, but we know she is now in a better place. Gravesite services at Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo, Washington on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at 11:00am with pot luck memorial following at 1st Lutheran Church, South Bend, Wa.
