Aberdeen resident Gillis P. Martin passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was 62. Gillis was born May 20, 1954 in San Francisco, Calif. to Gill and Bonnie (Olson) Martin.
He was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School. On November 22, 1995 he married the love of his life Jane Gibbs in Reno, Nevada. She survives him at the family home.
Gillis had worked for over 30 years in the auto industry including Duane Dewees as the new car sales manager, followed by Five Star Dealerships in Aberdeen, WA from where he retired.
He loved to cook, work in the yard, travel and shoot pool for the men’s league on the Harbor.
Gillis was preceded in death by his parents Gill & Bonnie Martin, brother Gene Martin and is survived by his loving wife Jane Martin, brother Gary Martin and wife Debi of Aberdeen WA; Gillis and Jane’s children Brian Milbourn of Montesano; Terri Waite and husband Morgan of Aberdeen WA and Tanya Milbourn of Olympia; seven grandchildren and five nieces and nephews, Jason, Christopher, Danielle, Nicole and Noah Martin.
A celebration of his life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20th at the 40 et 8 in Aberdeen. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Relay for Life.
