Obituary for Gerald Thomas Fisher

Gerald T. Fisher of Hoquiam passed away on April 3, 2017, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was 72. Jerry was born to Jack and Betty (Louderback) Fisher on Dec. 23, 1944, and went Hoquiam schools. Jerry then moved to Portland, Ore. and worked as a salesman selling motor homes and RV’s.

While vacationing in Seaside, Ore., he met a girl named Bellvena and later they were married then divorced.

Jerry moved back to Hoquiam where he worked and enjoyed driving taxi for many years. Jerry’s mom was one of 14 kids so he had 44 first cousins and even though he had a big family Jerry had many more friends. Jerry was kind and considerate and enjoyed watching Seattle Mariner games and the Seahawks too.

Jerry’s parents, sister Janet, brother Jack and daughter Shelly all preceded him in death. Jerry is survived by two daughters Jill and Suzanne, a whole bunch of cousins and a friend Lori Hewit.

Cremation was done by Harrison Family Mortuary. A potluck celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Sunday, April 23, at 2 p.m. at the Black Pearl on J St. in Hoquiam, next to the old Oriole.
