Obituary for Dixie Lee Valentine (Hall)

Dixie Lee Valentine of Elma passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 in Lacey, Washington. She was 83. Dixie was born August 19, 1933 in Elma, Washington to Dewey and Viola (Hughes) Hall.
She was raised in Oakville and moved to Elma in 1948 and graduated from Elma High School in 1951.
She married Donald John Koch in 1954; he passed away in 1964. Dixie married Royal LaVern Valentine in 1966 and they operated Schouweiler Service Station in Elma. Royal passed away in 2006.
Dixie was a homemaker and mother of seven children. She was a very active member of both the Elma and Grays Harbor LDS wards. She held many positions within the LDS Church. She enjoyed temple work and genealogy. Dixie loved attending any of her children and grandchildren’s events.
Dixie is survived by her loving family, sons Donald John Koch and Thomas LaVern Valentine; daughters Donna Jean Olsen, Jackie Lee Potter, Patricia Marie Galloway and Kathleen Marie Coulter; a sister Barbara Allyn Harding; 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. In addition to Donald and Royal she is also preceded in death by a son Charles Michael Koch and her brother Thomas Jefferson Hall.
Services will be held at the Elma LDS Stake Center, 702 E. Main St. in Elma. Viewing will begin at 12:45 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. with a graveside at Elma Masonic Cemetery and luncheon immediately following at the Elma LDS Church.
