Obituary for William Edward Foster

Bill Edward Foster passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his Hoquiam home. He was 73. Bill was born on February 21, 1943 to William and Gertrude Foster in Aberdeen, WA. After graduating with the Weatherwax Class of 1961 he went on to serve in the U.S. Navy.
Bill had worked at Long’s Foundry, Dineen Shake Mill, Bayview Lumber, the City of Hoquiam and Ace Hardware. He was also an active member of the Logger’s Playday committee and spent many hours volunteering for Grays Harbor Relay for Life. Bill loved watching NASCAR, cheering for the Seahawks and enjoyed watching sprint boat racing.
Bill is survived by his daughter Shannon Meservey, son Bradley Foster, and stepson Tracy Brown; grandchildren Cortney Miller, McKenna Miller, Aydin Meservey, Addisyn Meservey, Darby Foster, Logan Evans and Alayna Evans; and his 6 sisters Joanne Chapman, Mary Haggerty, Sheila Davis, Rena Johnston, Lorna Hieber, and Helen Barr.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the Hoquiam Elks on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Logger’s Playday Scholarship fund.
