Sandi Mayfield passed away peacefully August 8, 2016 at St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Washington after a massive stroke. Sandi was born in Longview, Washington to Don and Gladys Erickson Stacy. She graduated from R. A. Long High School in 1959.
At four feet eleven and three-quarters inches tall, Sandi was tiny, but she had a big heart. She loved people, especially children, and she knew how to make them feel loved. Even after a stroke robbed her of the ability to speak well, she communicated her love with lots of hugs, earning her the nickname “Hugaboo.”
Sandi loved stuffed animals and accumulated a quite a collection. She especially loved tigers. Her favorite colors were pink and purple. She loved all things sparkly and pretty. She was a church secretary and Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dave Mayfield, her brother, Larnell, and her parents. She is survived by two younger sisters, Dawn Stacy Berry of Castle Rock and Janet Stacy Page of Spokane.
Sandi leaves behind her daughter, Leisa Decker Andes and her husband Joe of Castle Rock, her son Butch Decker and his wife Julia of Matlock, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
We know that she is rejoicing in heaven with God and those who preceded her, though she is greatly missed here on earth.
