Milton R. “Moe” Weiland, 87 went to be with the Lord to join his son John in Heaven on March 22, 2016 at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma.
He was born Sept. 26, 1928 to John and Lida (St. Clair) in Vestaburg, Penn. He played basketball for Morgantown High School and graduated in 1947.
Moe loved sports and watched ball games 6 months out of the year; he also enjoyed looking up things of interest on his computer.
He served 2 years in the US Navy and was honorably discharged.
Moe came to Aberdeen in 1949 and worked for Grays Harbor Paper for 40 years until he retired as a beater engineer in 1989. He was a member of the A.W.P.P.W. local #315 in Hoquiam.
He moved to Elma in 1979 and resided there until his death.
Moe loved flowers and kept a beautiful yard. He did his own yard work and rode his bicycle until last year even though he was in poor health. He never complained, he was a hard worker and always busy.
He enjoyed going to Burger King, Walmart and Safeway weekly and enjoyed going to the Crow’s Nest for dinner on Sundays.
Moe was very proud of his family, he is survived by Leona Weiland; his son Bob Weiland is a retired engineer and a high school math teacher for an Indian Nation in Tucson, AZ; grandson Russell Weiland currently an independent contractor working in Cedar Pines, Calif.; granddaughter Stacey Weiland is an accomplished massage therapist in New York and also has a fan club for her Comic Con caricatures; he also has two sisters Carleen Click and Martina Lawson and numerous nieces and nephews in Bridgeport, WV.
