Annette Yvonne Boland – Emard

Annette, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, ascended into glory on March 3rd, 2016, for the Lord knew that the heavenly choir needed another alto, she was 65 years young. Annette was born July 29th 1950 in Tacoma Washington to her parents James Patrick Christopher Boland and Bertha “Betty” Shirley Jean (Diedrich) Boland.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in the year 1968. After graduation, she moved to Westport and worked at Washington Crab, as well as Glen Acres Motel. While living in Westport for some time, she met Michael Emard, and they were married February 25, 1972. Following their marriage, they lived in Grayland and North Cove until 1973. After leaving the beach area, Annette and Mike moved to Central Park and lived on his family’s homestead. During their time in Central Park, they settled down and raised their family. Besides her role as being a mother, she was also a care giver and a singer.
Helping people, singing, and the beach were Annette’s favorite passions in life. She helped many people whenever she could. She always thought and cared about others first instead of herself. One thing Annette always did was visit the “Shut- ins,” and give them plants and help. She really went out of her way to go the extra mile to make sure these people knew they were not forgotten, and that someone still cared for them. Another one of Annette’s favorite passions was singing. She was so active in the community just because of her singing voice. For years, Annette was involved with many churches, Christian events, nursing homes, and the Aberdeen Pioneer Association. Annette sang for many different functions such as the “Share A Thon” for Christian Cable Ministries (Channel 20), weddings, and funerals. One thing Annette really enjoyed, with all her heart and soul, was singing with “Notes of Praise” from the Music Factory. She sang for at least twenty years with this group, which includes; Dave Glenn, Bonnie Anderson, and former member Wilma Zepp who has since passed. While singing with “Notes of Praise,” they went so many places and were a part of many events, such as, the Festival of Light’s parade, other parades; the Matlock Fair, and lastly the Music Factory in Elma. Annette loved to go to the Music Factory on weekends to the sing-a-long’s, and shows. Ninety –nine percent of the time she always wanted to sing harmony. She was unique in that respect. Annette just loved to sing anywhere, and anytime, for it did not matter where she was. Many people have said she sang like an angel, and that she was one of the best. Besides music, her other passion in life was the ocean. She especially loved to go out to the beach when it was stormy and just watch the waves break on the sand, all while she would sing praises to her Heavenly Father. Annette was a very spiritual woman. Her biblical intelligence, music repertoire, knowledge about life, kindness to others and so many more attributes will be greatly missed. She was an amazing and unique individual, and no one could ever replace her. Heaven gained another angel, and although we are sad, we will see her again someday.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Boland and Bertha “Betty” (Diedrich) Boland, The Twins, (her first born sons that passed at birth, in 1972) lastly, many friends who have gone on before her, who are now welcoming her home.
Annette is survived by her former husband Michael James Emard Sr., and there seven children: Michael James Emard Jr. of Aberdeen; Mardi Jolanda Emard – Colburn (Ryan) currently of Los Angeles CA; Matthew Joseph Haek Emard (Hannah) of Aberdeen; Marcus Joel Chamberlin Emard (Brandi) of Aberdeen; Miles Jordan Boland Emard of Aberdeen; Mylon Justin Douglas Emard (Rachael) currently of Georgia; and Moriah Jonelle Emard of Aberdeen WA. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Joshua Emard, Caitlin Emard, Joseph Emard, Evangeline Emard, Brinnley Colburn, and Violet Colburn. Annette is also survived by her sister, Bernadette Kline (Ron), Niece: Stacie Lacina (Ed), Great Niece’s: Maddie and Abbie Lacina, Aunt: Katherine Dahl (Harry), and numerous cousins.
In the final words of Annette, she leaves her family and friends with this poem she wrote below, and she wishes you all “Happy Trails to You, Until We Meet Again”
IF I GO FIRST

If I go first and you remain
Take a walk in the moonlight or falling rain-
Let God wash away any pain that my departure perhaps gave-
Some memories you may save - But please don’t put me in a grave!
I am not dead- I truly Live!
For other’s Lives my Body give-
Please laugh, sing, play at the beach-
By the pounding waves – My heart you’ll reach!
Enjoy the winds – drink deep the air-
Just close your eyes, you’ll feel me there-
My Spirit now has been set Free-
I now enjoy God’s crystal sea-
On Eagles wings I’ve gone on home-
Never more to walk alone-
I gave my all for my King – To help, to pray – My life to Sing-
My song is gone now from your ears-
But have no sorrows, fears or tears

Annette’s Celebration of Life will be held at United Christian Church on Saturday, March 19th at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge on south side in Aberdeen. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christian Cable Ministries.
