Obituary for Fred Irvin Nylander

Fred Irvin Nylander
Fred Irvin Nylander went to be with the Lord Sunday evening, October 11, 2015 joining family and friends who went before him.

He was born December 17, 1940 in Vancouver, Washington to Delmer Oren Nylander and Artha Lorraine Mae Keene. He grew up on the East Hoquiam Road and attended Wishkah Valley School before joining the US Navy. His first job after military service was at Long's Foundry in Hoquiam. He later worked at Clevenger's store in Aberdeen and Big John's Tavern in Hoquiam.

Fred loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He could often be seen on the shores of Lake Aberdeen. Later in life he struggled with health issues but was also kind and compassionate with a great sense of humor. It made his day to see someone smile or laugh.

Fred was preceded in death by his brothers Donald Marvin Nylander and Andrew Oren Nylander; his first wife Rachelle Diane Henry; his second wife Gina Roselle Tolva; and a step-brother Darrell Lee Carter.

He is survived by a Half-sister, Karen Willis of Humptulips; two half-brothers, Mike Carter of Spanaway, Pat Carter of Hoquiam; a step-brother, John E. Carter of Hoquiam; a step-son Robert Walker-Nylander and numerous nieces of nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Lake Sylvia at a future time.
