Former McCleary Mayor Richard John Vatne passed away at
his home in McCleary on Sunday, July 12, 2015. He was 74.
Dick was born June 26, 1941 in Olympia, Wash. to Stanley
and Agnes (Hansen) Vatne.
Dick married Billie Sharlene Self, she passed away July 22,
2002.
Dick is survived by his son Tim Heath of Elma; a step-son
Josh Mower of Elma, two step-daughters Shawna Sturges of
McCleary and Kristi Miller of Shelton; a sister Beverley Petek
of Edmonds and a nephew Rich Petek of Lynwood.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m., August 1 at
the McCleary Cemetery followed by a reception at the
McCleary V.F.W.
Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Family Mortuary
of Montesano.
