Obituary for Shane William Nebel

Shane Nebel was born in Missoula Montana on September 29, 1976 to Fred and Karen Nebel. As a young child his family moved to Hoquiam, Wash., where he graduated from Hoquiam High School. In the summer of 1994, at a rock con- cert he met Sheri, the love of his life, best friend and mother of his children. He attended Grays Harbor College and the Div- ers Institute of Technology. He and Sheri lived in New Or- leans while he worked as an offshore commercial diver in the Gulf of Mexico. They returned to the harbor, building their life in Montesano and were married on March 25, 2000 at Cornerstone Community Church in Aberdeen. Shane was a proud member of the Laborers Union #252. He had worked as a groundman for Keystone Masonry, since 1999. Shane enjoyed spending time with his family; his kids say "he was good Dad and friend and made everything fun, even going to the Brady store." He was an avid hiker, rock climber, recreational and commercial diver. He loved to camp, travel and work on their farm. Shane was also very in- volved in the community; he coached on his kids’ sports teams, was Cubmaster for Troop 16, and was an active mem- ber of Grays Harbor Volunteer Search and Rescue, with his search dog Belle. In March, he and Belle assisted at the Oso mudslide. He is survived by his wife Sheri, his daughter Danyka and his son Shane D., as well as, his parents, siblings, countless fami- ly and friends. Shane was a loving and attentive husband and father and a loyal friend. He is cherished and adored by his wife and kids. He is loved and respected and will be missed by all. A memorial service, open to all, will be held on September 20th at the Montesano Church of God at 3p.m., with a recep- tion to follow immediately at Montesano City Hall.
