Condolences

Condolence From: Roger Clay
Condolence: So sad to hear of Uncle Cecil's passing, yet so glad to have known such a wonderful man who was an integral part of my early years. Cecil lived a full life, so there are no regrets here. He was such a sweet man--always full of good humor and a kind word to all--that he was the very embodiment of a "gentleman". Grandma Pearl was very proud of her boy. I should know, as I lived with her for several years as a youngster! I was always in awe of Cecil and his TV workshop in his garage...how did he know all of that technical stuff? Amazing! He always maintained a perfect yard, too! I guess he never slept very much in order to get all of his daily responsibilities accomplished. In addition to this, he had the sweetest wife in Helen, as well as three great daughters in Sandy, Cecille, and Joanne (my cousins). I will miss the "concept" of Uncle Cecil, as I haven't seen him in many years due to my relocation away from Aberdeen back in 1983. He was "dope", as they say today, meaning that he was the best. My mom,Eileen, has lost her big brother, and this makes me very sad, but I know that she would agree with me that Cecil was called home, diminishing the world while leaving behind a legacy that has enhanced all of lives in countless ways that can never be measured. I say to all, "How is this a sad thing? His mentorship is a treasure that can only be honored by paying it forward to our family and friends. In this way, we will keep the spirit of Cecil alive in our hearts. My only question is this: with his passing, who will carry Helen's purse?
