Obituary for Rexalee Alyce Easley (Gustafson)

Rexalee Alyce  Easley (Gustafson)
Rexalee A. Easley, a harborite native died Monday, October 8, 2012 at age 80 after a long battle with lung cancer.
She was born in Aberdeen, WA on November 13, 1931 to Beulah Thacker and Wilmer Rex Gustafson. She grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1949. In 1974 she married Edward Easley in Huntington Beach, Calif. He survives her at the family home in Hoquiam.
While still in high school, she worked at Ray’s Ice Cream Parlor and in a fish cannery both in Aberdeen. After graduation, Rexalee worked at the Washington State Unemployment Office. Later she went to work for the Boeing Co. in Seattle for a couple of years. Then moved back to Hoquiam and went to work for ITT Rayonier before going to work for the Draft Board. Rexalee then transferred over to the Social Security Administration in Aberdeen, she raised her family in Hoquiam until 1972 when she moved to Torrance, Calif. where she met and married Ed. While there she continued working for Social Security then she transferred to the Social Security Office in Kansas City, MO. In 1981 they moved to Phoenix, AZ and she went to work for the Federal Housing Authority, HUD, as the mortgage credit clerk for a year, before returning to the Social Security Administration as a Hearing Assistant for Administrative Law Judges. She retired in December 1991, but a few months later, contracted back to Social Security as a traveling court reporter around Northern Arizona. She retired again in 1996 and she and her husband Ed moved back to Hoquiam.
Prior to her marriage to Edward, she was married to Byard Perry, Roger Ashenbrenner and Vernon Karl.
In addition to her husband Ed, Rexalee is survived by three sons, Rex B. Perry and George A. Perry both of Montesano; also R. Neill Ashenbrenner and a daughter, Denise Clark both of Colorado Springs, CO. She was extremely close to her granddaughter Heidi Hayes of Colorado Springs, CO, who phoned and visited her regularly. She has a granddaughter Sheila Perry, four grandsons, Brandon and Conner Perry of Montesano and Jamie Conway and Tyson Clark. Rexalee also has several other grandschildren and great grandchildren.
Rexalee was preceded in death by her mother, Beulah Larson, her father Wilmer Gustafson and her brother Dennis Gustafson.
At Rexalee’s request there will be no services.
